Nationwide child care provider LCG cannot deny access to children simply because they have insulin dependent diabetes. Sweeping settlement agreement under Americans with Disabilities Act requires LCG to accommodate to the needs of insulin dependent children. They must adopt a disability non-discrimination policy which includes not rejecting children merely because they are insulin dependent, training for staff, affirmatively informing parents of their rights, and $10,000 in compensatory damages to each of eight specific complainant families. - StreetCred: Reimagining Pediatric Care: Founded at Boston Medical Center in 2015, StreetCred offers free tax-prep services in pediatrics clinics to families that qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). As of 2019, StreetCred is offered at healthcare facilities in six states — including Yale New Haven Hospital — and helps procure tax refunds for eligible families. Watch our video, featuring MLPP Senior Staff Attorney Alice Rosenthal, whose CCA office is inside Yale New Haven Hospital.
