Your support is critical.

Each year CCA has to raise over $3 million dollars through a combination of earned income, foundation grants and individual and corporate giving. CCA also maintains a very clear stance where accepting minimal state funding to ensure our advocacy on behalf of Connecticut’s most at-risk children aligns only with their best interests and needs.

Our fundraising campaigns include our annual appeal and national and regional digital campaigns, such as Giving Tuesday in November and the Great Give in New Haven in May, and a series of state-wide community events and fundraisers, including Spring for Kids our annual flagship event in Hartford.

Required Minimum Distributions
If you are over 72, you must take required minimum distributions (RMDs) from your IRA. Donating a portion of this distribution directly to CCA reduces your taxable income. Contact your financial institution for information.

By donating stock that has increased in value, you may avoid capital gains tax and put more funds to work for the causes you care about. Please click here for the stock donation notification form.

CCA As A Beneficiary

Retirement Plans/IRAs
Unlike other investments, funds withdrawn from tax-deferred individual retirement accounts (IRAs) are taxable as ordinary income and, eventually, taxable to your heirs. By naming the Center for Children’s Advocacy as the beneficiary of your retirement account, you can avoid these taxes. Contact Maggie Prendergast for more information.

Life Insurance
Consider donating a paid-up life insurance policy. You may also name CCA as a beneficiary.

Legacy Gifts
If you have already named CCA as a beneficiary in your estate plans, thank you! Please let us know about your gift, so we may recognize you for your generosity (or, you may opt to be “anonymous.”). You may also tell us more about your gift by returning this form to us; please include as much information as you feel comfortable sharing.

Make a Gift in Your Will or Estate Plan
You can name CCA as one of the beneficiaries on a retirement plan, investment, or bank account, and there is no need to update your will. Contact your financial institution to update beneficiaries; often, you can do this online. You could name children or relatives (80%) and CCA (20%) as beneficiaries.

You may also designate a percentage of your estate or the account to CCA by including a bequest provision in your will or revocable trust. CCA can be a primary or a contingent beneficiary. Please click for sample bequest language. If you have already named CCA as a beneficiary in your estate plans, please let us know so we may recognize you for your generosity; note that you may opt to be “anonymous.” Contact Maggie Prendergast for more information on naming CCA as a beneficiary.
