CENTER FOR CHILDREN’S ADVOCACY TO HOST ‘GIVING CHILDREN A
VOICE: IN CHALLENGING TIMES’ EVENT WITH SENATOR CHRIS MURPHY
The Senator’s current advocacy on the federal level and CCA’s mission driven work fighting for
the legal rights of CT’s low-income children are the inspiration for the event
WESTPORT, CT – On May 2, 2025, The Center for Children’s Advocacy (CCA), New England’s
largest children’s legal rights organizations, will host its second ‘Giving Children A Voice’ event.
At the event, CCA Executive Director Sarah Eagan will speak to the need for systemic reform,
including expanding youth and family services to improve low-income children’s lives. “Now
more than ever we must double down on our commitment to a society where, truly, no child is
left behind, where all children can access the safety, education and healthcare they need to
flourish, where we value the inherent worth and dignity of every child, regardless of race, gender
or disability.”
Keynote speaker Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy will offer the keynote address about the
importance of ensuring the protections of the most vulnerable.
Several additional Connecticut lawmakers will be present.
The Center for Children’s Advocacy was founded in 1997 on a $2,000 budget, in loaned office
space over the boiler room at UConn Law School. In the 28 years since, CCA has grown to an
organization with 25 staff and a $3 million operating budget.
The event is being sponsored by Finn Dixon & Herling, LLP, First County Bank, Koskoff Koskoff
& Bieder PC, Shipman & Goodwin LLP, Silver Golub & Teitell LLP, Slarskey LLC, and Wells
Fargo Advisors, LLC.
