HB 7217 – An Act Concerning Various Revisions To The Education Statutes.

Reduces school suspensions for children in PreK through Second Grade (from 5 days to 2 days), and children must receive trauma-informed support upon their return and consider the need for special education evaluation and accommodation; Enhances access to alternative education programs for expelled students.
HB 7219 – An Act Protecting 504 Plan Accommodations For Students In Connecticut.

Codifies the provisions of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and those relevant accompanying regulations to ensure that students with disabilities are not excluded from participation, denied benefits, or subjected to discrimination in public education programs.
 
SB 1511 – An Act Concerning Disconnected Youth. https://www.cga.ct.gov/asp/cgabillstatus/cgabillstatus.asp?selBillType=Bill&which_year=2025&bill_num=1511

Increases funding for students that are eligible for free or reduced price meals, multilingual learners and students requiring special education, adds the Department of Correction and Court Support Services to P20 WIN and require data collection and sharing concerning disconnected youth, requires establishment of a youth success oversight board within a regional council of governments, requires the establishment of a program to provide school-based telehealth mental health services, and requires the distribution of youth employment funds to regional workforce development boards based on the percentage of disadvantaged youth in such region.
